A Pomodoro timer for Notion
Focus for 25 minutes, take a 5-minute break, and after four rounds a longer one — right on your Notion page. Set your own times and the sound, or switch to a simple timer or a stopwatch. Free — sign in with Notion to get the link — and it follows Notion’s light and dark mode.

Paste the link into Notion with /embed · the timer keeps counting while you work on other pages

Add it to Notion
- 1Copy the widget link.
- 2In any Notion page type
/embed, press Enter, paste the link and click Embed link. - 3Drag the edges of the embed to resize it. The digits grow and shrink with the embed; in a short one the buttons move next to the time.
Change it later in My widgets
Once you sign in, the button next to the widget link saves it to My widgets. The widget gets a short link and a place in your IVGraph account: change its settings there, and the embed in Notion updates by itself — no need to paste the link again.
My widgets lists everything you saved, with views for the week.
How the Pomodoro technique works
The method comes from Francesco Cirillo, who timed his study sessions with a tomato-shaped kitchen timer — pomodoro is Italian for tomato. Work comes in short rounds with breaks in between, so you know how long you have to stay focused and when you can stop.
- 1Pick one task and write it in the Task field — it shows at the top of the timer.
- 2Press Start and work on that task only for 25 minutes. If something else comes to mind, note it and get back to the task.
- 3When the bell rings, take a 5-minute break: stand up, look away from the screen.
- 4After four rounds, take a longer break of 15–30 minutes. The dots under the timer show where you are in the cycle, and the count shows how many rounds you finished today.
Ways to use it
Study sessions
Put the timer on your study page next to your notes, a countdown to the exam and a habit tracker — one page for the whole evening.
Deep work on your dashboard
Write the task at the top, turn on Start the next round by itself and keep the phone away. At the end of the day the count shows how many rounds you really did.
A timer for anything
Switch to Timer for a time-boxed meeting, a workout set or the tea, or to Stopwatch to see how long a task really takes.
FAQ
Does the timer keep running if I switch pages in Notion?
Yes. The timer counts from the moment you press Start, so it shows the right time when you come back to the page. The sound plays only while a page with the timer is open. If a focus round ended while the page was closed, the round still counts and the timer moves on to the break.
Why don’t I hear the sound?
Browsers let a page play sound only after you click on it. The sound works once you press Start in the widget. If you open the page while the timer is already running, it says “Click to turn on the sound” — one click on the timer is enough. Also check that the tab or the Notion app isn’t muted and the phone isn’t in silent mode. You can pick another sound or turn it off.
Can I change 25 and 5 minutes?
Yes: focus from 1 to 180 minutes, a short break up to 60, a long break up to 90, and the long break after 1 to 12 rounds. Turn on Start the next round by itself under More options to run the whole cycle without clicking.
If I embed it on two pages, are there two timers?
No — on your device the same link is one timer wherever you embed it, so it keeps running when you move from your dashboard to a project page. For separate timers, save two widgets to My widgets — each gets its own link.
Can my teammates see my timer?
No. The timer lives in the browser of whoever opens the page: everyone who opens your Notion page gets their own timer and their own count for today. Your timer is never sent to IVGraph or to Notion.
Does it work on the phone and with dark mode?
Yes. It follows the light or dark mode of the device, like Notion does; under More options you can set Light or Dark. In a narrow or short embed the digits get smaller and the buttons move next to the time.
Is the Pomodoro timer free?
Yes, with no limits — sign in with Notion once to get the embed link. Save it to My widgets to change the times later without embedding it again.
