Add it to Notion

  1. 1Copy the widget link.
  2. 2In any Notion page type /embed, press Enter, paste the link and click Embed link.
  3. 3Drag the edges of the embed to resize it. The calendar fits the embed: in a short one it shows the current week.

Change it later in My widgets

Once you sign in, the button next to the widget link saves it to My widgets. The widget gets a short link and a place in your IVGraph account: change its settings there, and the embed in Notion updates by itself — no need to paste the link again.

My widgets lists everything you saved, with views for the week.

How to embed Google Calendar in Notion

The widget above shows the month and the dates you type in. To see your Google Calendar events on a Notion page, embed the Google calendar itself. Google shows a calendar outside its own site only when the calendar is public.

  1. 1Open Google Calendar on a computer — the phone app has no sharing settings. At the top right, click the gear icon, then Settings.
  2. 2On the left, under Settings for my calendars, click the calendar you want to show.
  3. 3Under Access permissions for events, tick Make available to public, click OK in the warning and keep See all event details selected.
  4. 4Scroll down to Integrate calendar and copy the Public URL to this calendar.
  5. 5In Notion type /embed, press Enter, paste the link and click Embed link. Drag the edges of the embed to make the calendar wide and tall enough to read.
Before you make a calendar publicAnyone with the link can see its events, and Google warns that a public calendar can show up in search results if its link is on a public website. Keep private plans in a separate calendar. On a work or school account the admin may turn public sharing off — then the option is missing. Notion’s help also notes that the embed works when Google Calendar and Notion use the same Gmail address.

Google Calendar embed

Your real events, kept up to date by Google. The calendar has to be public, and the embed looks like Google Calendar.

IVGraph calendar widget

A clean month or week for a dashboard, with your own dates in the link. Nothing to make public, and it follows Notion’s light and dark mode.

Ways to use it

The month on your dashboard

Put the calendar at the top of your Notion home page, next to your tasks and notes — today’s date is always in front of you.

Dates you don’t want to miss

Birthdays with Every year, an exam, rent day or a trip: a dot on the day and the label under the month, without a database.

A weekly planning page

Switch to Week to see seven days with your labels, and turn on week numbers if your team plans in sprints.

FAQ

Can I embed my Google Calendar in Notion?

Yes, if the calendar is public: copy its Public URL in Google Calendar settings and paste it into Notion with /embed — the steps are above. Our calendar widget doesn’t read Google Calendar: it shows the month and the dates you add to it.

Does the week start on Monday or Sunday?

By default it follows the viewer’s language and region: Sunday in the US, Japan or Korea, Monday in most of Europe. Pick Monday or Sunday to make it the same for everyone.

Can it show month and day names in my language?

Yes: English, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil) and Traditional Chinese. By default it uses the language of the viewer’s browser.

How do I mark birthdays and deadlines?

Add up to ten dates with a short label and turn on Every year for birthdays and anniversaries. The day gets a dot, and the labels appear under the month. Save the widget to My widgets to change the dates later without embedding it again.

Is this the Notion Calendar app?

No. Notion Calendar is Notion’s separate app that connects to your calendar accounts. This is a small calendar you embed on a Notion page; it doesn’t connect to any account.

Does it work with dark mode and on the phone?

Yes. It follows the light or dark mode of the device, like Notion does; under More options you can set Light or Dark. In a narrow embed the day names get shorter, and in a short one the calendar shows the current week.

Is the calendar widget free?

Yes, with no limits — sign in with Notion once to get the embed link.
