See your Obsidian vault as a graph
Pick your vault folder and see every note, [[link]] and #tag as an interactive graph — flat like Obsidian’s graph view, or in 3D. Your files are read by this page in your browser and are never uploaded.
Drop your vault folder here
or choose it: the folder with your notes and a hidden .obsidian folder inside
On a phone or tablet?
Your notes stay on your device. The page reads the files in your browser and sends nothing anywhere — not the text, not the file names.
Reading notes
How it works
- 1Choose your vault folder — the one with your notes and the hidden
.obsidianfolder inside — or drop it on the box above. A.zipof the vault works too. - 2The page reads your notes in the browser. It finds links and tags in every
.mdfile and skips the.obsidianand.trashfolders, as Obsidian does. Nothing is sent anywhere: once the graph is open, you can turn off Wi‑Fi and keep exploring. - 3Explore. Search for a note, click a dot to see its links, backlinks and tags, switch between 2D and 3D, and hide tags, attachments or orphans.
What the graph shows
Your vault becomes a knowledge graph built straight from your Markdown files. It shows the same things as Obsidian’s graph view:
- Notes are dots colored by their top-level folder. The more links a note has, the bigger its dot.
- Links are lines:
[[wikilinks]], embeds![[…]], Markdown links such as[text](note.md)and links in properties. - Tags are green dots:
#tagin the text andtags:in properties. Nested tags like#project/activekeep their full name. - Notes not created yet are dim dots: a link points to them, but there is no such file yet.
- Attachments are the images, PDFs and other files your notes link to or embed. They are hidden at first, as in Obsidian.
- Orphans are notes without any links. They float around the edge of the graph.
Links and tags inside code blocks, inline code and comments don’t count, just as in Obsidian. A link finds its note the way Obsidian does: by the file name, and if several notes share it, by the closest path.
Obsidian’s graph view or this page?
| Graph view in Obsidian | This page | |
|---|---|---|
| What you need | The Obsidian app with your vault | A browser — no install, no account |
| 3D | Only with a community plugin | Built in: switch between 2D and 3D |
| Updates | Live, as you write | A snapshot: open the folder again to refresh |
| Colors | Groups from any search query | By top-level folder |
| Other Markdown folders | Only when opened as a vault | Any folder of .md notes with links |
Use Obsidian’s graph while you write. Open this page to see your vault in 3D, to show it on a computer without Obsidian, or to find orphans and links to notes that don’t exist yet.

FAQ
Do my notes get uploaded?
No. Your browser reads the files on this page, and their text and names are never sent to IVGraph or anyone else. The only thing the page reports is that a graph was built and its rough size, such as “1,000–5,000 notes”.
Why does my browser say it will upload the files?
That is how some browsers ask for access to a folder. The files stay where they are: this page only reads them. In Chrome and Edge the button opens a prompt that asks to let the site view the files instead.
How big a vault can it open?
We tested it with 20,000 notes on a laptop: the graph appeared in 2 to 5 seconds, and the page stayed responsive while the graph settled. Notes larger than 4 MB are read only in part.
Does it work on a phone or tablet?
Yes, with a .zip of your vault. On an iPhone or iPad, open the Files app, touch and hold the vault folder, choose Compress, then tap “Open a .zip of your vault” above. On Android, make the .zip in a file manager. On a computer you can open the folder itself.
Does it change my files?
No. The page can only read the files you choose; it can’t edit, move or delete anything. Close the tab and it forgets them.
Is this a web version of Obsidian?
No. This page draws a map of your vault: note titles, links and tags. It doesn’t show or edit the text of your notes. Keep writing in the Obsidian app, and open this page when you want to see the whole vault at once, in 2D or 3D.
Does it work with Logseq or other Markdown apps?
Mostly, yes. Any folder of .md files that link with double brackets or Markdown links works, for example the pages of a Logseq graph or an LLM wiki. Properties in other formats, such as Logseq’s tags:: line, are not read.
Can it show my Notion workspace?
This page reads Obsidian folders only. For Notion there is IVGraph itself: sign in with Notion to see every page, backlink and database relation as an interactive 3D graph. It’s free up to 500 nodes.
Use Notion too?
IVGraph shows a Notion workspace the same way: pages, links and database relations as an interactive 3D graph. Sign in with Notion — free up to 500 nodes.
